Help catch a snowboard thief?

My spidey sense tells me this guy is selling stolen snowboards. I would LOVE to help catch a snowboard thief, but I need the help of someone who lives near Keene / Manchester, New Hampshire.
I responded to a Craigslist ad for that area with this text
"burton snowboard w/ bindings - $125 (peterborough area)
Mens burton snowboard with bindings. 156 cm great condition. Very nice board, paid over 500$ priced to sell, havent rode it much so its in very good condition"
I responded and e said that board was gone but he had another Burton for sale now. I asked for more info on the board and bindings, but he ignored those questions and said this:
"Attached a couple pics of a burton board, i just bought it and wanted to keep it but i need the money. Ill sell it to you for 150$ if you can pick it up by tommorow. This board is really nice, worth a hell of a lot more than that, and i just bought it from a friend for 200$ and ended up really needing the money back. So let me kno asap"
I don't think he knows what model the board and bindings are, and I think he's selling stolen boards. So much fishiness with this whole thing.
No way I can meet him tomorrow morning all the way from Boston with this snowstorm. And no way the police are going to move quickly on this for the same reason.
Anyone live near Keene or Manchester, NH willing to give this guy $150 to rescue a nice stolen Burton with bindings, and get his license plate? I'd be willing to help contact the local resorts and police to track down the original owner, and even split the $150. Worst case scenario, it's not stolen and we got a great deal.
Anyone game to fight the good fight?
