Traditional Positive Camber - Am I Nuts?

d
I've done a ton of research but now need some help. I'm looking to pick up a new board and have been eyeing some traditional camber boards. I've been riding wide boards for 15 years because I thought I was a size 13 boot. Turns out I'm really an 11 (like a 10, with the reduced footprint boot) and no longer need something so wide.

I ride in the east and never ride the park. I generally stay on the groomers and carve. I've been riding a 157 skunk ape with C2 btx (again, because I thought I needed something that wide) for 4 years. I'm considering picking up a camber board (even though I've never rode one) since I spend 90% of my time carving groomers around resorts.

I've been looking at Slash ATVs, Burton Customs, and Capita NASs. Is traditional camber going to feel that different from the skunk ape? Will it keep my edges in a bit better on the steeps? I figure I could always strap on the skunk ape for the few days I get some powder or if I wanted to jib a bit.

Also, I'm 5'9" 150lbs. Is 154-156 still the right range for me?
