Powder Board suggestions?

d
Hey all,

I'm looking for something that will kill it on powder. I already have a couple tolerable boards, where tolerable means "set your stance way back and lean on that back leg", and I'm not looking for more of the same. I want a board where I can actually use my edges a bit in powder, and where the slightest forward weight shift does NOT send me into the snow. I've heard that swallowtails are the way to go for this, but...I live several hours from the mountain, and I won't be able to get it right all the time, so I'd prefer something that doesn't suck on groomers. But, by far the most important trait is that it does awesome in powder. Not "ok in powder and ok everywhere else" but "excellent in powder".

Couple bits about me and my riding:

I despise full rocker boards. Hybrid is cool, as is flat, and I'm sure there are some rocker shapes I'm good with. But something where the board wants to do all the work on its own is not for me.

I love making long sweeping turns down the fall line when I have a wide open mountain.

I love trees, when there are too many people on the mountain to make turns down the fall line.

I tend to ride with skiers, so I end up having to go through more than my fair share of moguls.

While I'm not good enough to leave a 3" deep trench in the hardpack we have going on in Tahoe right now, I do like actually carving.

I recently demo'd a NS chairman, and the feel of it was pretty good, but there's only hardpack, ice, and manmade snow in tahoe right now, which is about as far from powder as you can get. I see reviews have it pegged as a good powder board...is it?

Also, I was talking to a NS rep, and they said that there's a swallowtail NS coming out next season. I've never ridden a swallowtail before, how do they perform on groomers/trees? I understand they're pretty close to the best thing out there for powder...

Thanks for any suggestions!
