Nitro Blacklight to a Lib Tech 161

Time to get a new board. I've been a loyal Nitro customer for years. The last board I bought was a 11 Nitro Blacklight. Great board, but I bought it too short (its a 157); it skitters whenI really crank on it - like it has too much torsional flex. So, I rented a Lib Tech Darker Series, 161. Loved everything about it, but I don't remember if it was a regular or a wide.
So this time I'm going to get a Lib Tech, but is the Darker or the TRP HP the call? I've never ridden the TRP HP, but I'll get a 161. The Darker Series comes in a 61 and 61W; coming off a mid-wide, I'm a little worried about getting a regular width board. If the TRS is a midwide and at least as stiff as the Darker Series, it sounds like it might be the better fit. The stiffer the better.
Any and all input appreciated.
