Are Burton Ambush suitable for me

So here's the deal, I went into my local retailer with the intention of trying on and buying some Burton Imperials if they felt right, but because they didn't have any in my size the store staff talked me into trying the Burton Ambush. I tried them on and decided to buy them, but now i'm a bit concerned that they may be a bit too soft for me.
I do all of my riding in Japan, and I try to spend most of my time in the powder, but occasionally try to hit some kickers or do some buttering on the days with a bit less snow.
According to the Burton website the support rating of the Ambush is 5/10 and the imperial is 7/10.
So my question is, will this extra flex have much of an effect on my riding, and if so will it be enough to worry about? I realise that it does come down to personal preference a bit, but I don't want to start trying to charge some powder runs and feel like I can't control my board because my boots are flexing too much.
Any help will be much appreciated.
