Compact Shorts

Hi. I live in ice coast. Last season even I know how to fall I fell on my tailbone pretty hard once. This season I decided to buy Compact shorts (Burtons) and well they are very uncomfortable.
Am I the only one? I tried them 2 weeks ago and after 2 runs I took them off and ride normally. Today I decided to ride them in one full day ( I met guy on a lift who said it was all about getting used to) and well I still couldn't get used to them. I felt restricted, and for example if I wanted to ollie my ollies were so small and had almost no air.
Anyone else had same issue? Should I just abandon this idea or it's all about getting used to.
