First time wax problem

Well I don't know if it is a problem yet, but I'm at the scraping phase and the hardened wax is extremely difficult to come off. I don't know if this is normal or not but I been scraping for a solid 15 min and I have only about 4-5 inches of wax off, and even when I press hard on the scraped area a little bit still comes off. From the few videos tutorial I watched they seems to do 3 or 4 pulls from tip to tail and that was it. Maybe i used to much wax? I don't think it would effect the difficulty of the removal though. Maybe I'm scraping to much? From what i understand you don't want any wax to come off after scraping. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
