13/14 Rome Brigade 151

d
In my limited experience riding I absolutely loved the older NS SL I rented last month for 3 days in Vail. I could make the turns I wanted and plow through the chop without too much trouble although I could feel it below me. A week later at Abasin I rode a basic rental Burton with some sort of rocker profile that was extremely playful on the few inches of fresh snow they had gotten, but it didn't dig in like the NS.

I ordered a 13/14 Rome Brigade on a whim because of it's cheap price and Rome's apparent quality. It has a few reviews online but I could never find any discussions about it. I just spent 3 days riding it at Keystone, Loveland, and Abasin and I absolutely love it. I'm 5'7 160lbs and the board was able to hold an edge carving at high speeds with ease and it was very playful. I was doing 360's spinning down shallow hills and bombing the groomers making whatever turns I wanted. I was worried that my weight was a little high for the 151 but it had plenty of edge hold to spare for me. I also ordered a Rome Garage Rocker 156 that I rode with a flat rocker profile and the Brigade with it's RCR profile was even more playful than that board while also carving with ease, but it could have been the size difference at play.

The reason I mention the NS is that I was dead set on ordering a Proto or Ripsaw until I got this Rome Brigade out on the snow. I figured the Brigrade and Garage Rocker would get me through this season and in the off season I would buy my NS but the Brigade felt so perfect in every situation that I know I want my next board to be another Rome "No Hangups Pop" RCR board. The Brigade and Crossrocket both have this profile from Rome, I'd recommend anyone to try them out. Anyone else have experience with the Brigade? I'd love to hear from someone who has ridden it as well as another RCR board?
