Board length, friends say shorter, manufacturer says longer

Hi all, You've given me some great advise in past on board width and I have now sourced a 26 width Zelix board and there are two length option 159 and 163. Manufacture is recommending the 163, but all my friends who have boarded quite a bit are pointing me towards 159. I won't be able to try before I buy, so was wondering what your view was. I'm 6'1, 185lbs, size12/13 (level/ improving). Aim on mainly free riding , groomed slopes and through tree lines between, so all mountain hopefully/ eventually taking on some backcountry. Not interested in the park at the mo. Board mainly in Japan wher the POW can be pretty deep and pretty amazing! Your view would really be appreciated? Cheers C
