bindings tailored to snowboard?

Hello



I just saw a nice second hand snowboard without bindings. I just thought I might buy a pair o new cheap bindings I saw on a store.



My question is: should I have any consideration in mind when purchasing the bindings so that they fit a snowboard? Are the bindings and boards standard so that it is always possible to attach any bindings to any type of board?



Any insight is appreciated. I am quite lost.
