Looking for a Board - Beginner

Hi everyone!
I'm 25, I did snowboarding 10 years ago and was good at it. Couple of weeks ago, I went to a mountain and rented some equipment. The board was a 149 cm stiff flat board.
I was able to gain some skill back. ''S'' after one slope and trying to carve at the end of the day. I've never catched an edge but the board wasn't responsive at all.
I am looking for all around board. Everyone tells me to buy a rocker board, some reviews tell me they dont carve. I am confuse!
Is there such thing as a Soft rocker that can carve and progress to a advance board later?
I am 5'8''/145lbs(65kg)/male/(200-350$ budget)
Any suggestion for boards will be greatly appreciated!!!
