Lift ticket needed for lessons?

Total newbie here! If I paid for all day lessons for my kids at a resort do I also need to pay for lift tickets as well. Just wondering if the fee includes that. I would wait and ask at the resort (Smugglers Notch, Vermont) but I want to get my tickets through a discounter prior to.
