Is my base trashed? Waxing help

d
Let me start off by saying I've totally neglected my board which I know so I don't need to hear how important it is to take care of it. It was purchased 3 years ago but never used that first year and then heavily used last season and this season. At least 30 times each year. I have never done any maintenance or waxing at all. The only thing I did this year was go to a shop on the way to the mountain and get a "quick tune" for $15. He took it in the back and was done in 5 minutes so who knows what he did. The base did look different so maybe he just brushed it?

So I've been reading up on this forums and everywhere else on waxing. I decided to purchase an actual waxing iron and all the brushes and everything. Gonna be ordering it all tonight. In the mean time I bought some oneballjay warm wax, plexi glass for scrapers, and scotch bright pads. I went out tonight and figure I'd do the hot scrape method to clean my base since I never cleaned it. I used a random iron I found for now and it seemed to hardly melt the wax once it was dripped on the board. Maybe I'm just not used to it so it took a while to spread it all out. I only let it sit for 2 minutes and then scraped the hell out of it (there was a lot). Here are some pictures and as you can see it looks horrible. I know part of that is from neglecting it but I'm wondering if I didn't get it hot enough or something. I know you shouldn't use windex and I don't plan to again but for now I quick used it to wipe it down. I then put on the actual coat of wax and will scrape and buff in another hour.

The strange thing is until the past 2 day of slush riding my board was flying. There have been countless time where someone was ahead of me on a flat and I got up and flew past them.

It will be another week till everything comes and then I will hot scrape and wax again. I am getting the Toko T8 iron, brass brush, and nylon brush, and either a small amount of warm wax for the rest of the slush season or some all temp wax. Just seeing if this board is toast or what. Getting a new one but I'd like to still use it then. Any advice is appreciated
