Twin boards, sidecut and setback

Just a quick question regarding the relationship of sidecut and setback on 'twin boards'. I'll keep flex pattern out of it :hairy:
Suppose a board is labelled as a twin... but then has 2cm of setback. I expect this means 2cm relative to the midpoint of the board.
Then the question is: is the sidecut centered on the board's midpoint, or is that also offset by the same amount? If the bindings are set according to the 'built-in' setback, are they in fact 'centered' around the midpoint of the sidecut (as opposed to midpoint of the board).
Is there an 'industry convention' over this? Apologies if this is obvious, but a quick search didn't result in a conclusive answer...
