That's a pretty sick board for any time period.
Light years ahead of everything else in 1980
A few words for a very special anniversary :
The unexpected discovery of the very first snowboard I saw.
In Haleiwa, Hawaii, dec 1980, in Peter Trombly’s living room. Peter was a famous shaper making wonderful customs for Windsurfing Hawaii. I was there for my first 6 month long trip, starting my shaper’s ‘career’…
I didn’t even know that snowboarding was existing, when I suddenly stopped in front of that marvellous object, standing there, alone.
It was almost in the dark, although so close to famous clear sunny waves.
A black Winterstick swallowtail …
My mind immediately transported me riding powder somewhere high in our mountains, anticipating much more intense sensations than everything I was feeling with my usuaI monoski…
Thank you Dimitrije for that deep vibration you gave me that day.
That vibration created passion for surfing on snow.
Both are still alive, even more than ever…
